Breaded Mozzarella Sticks With Marinara Sauce

INGREDIENTS : –

For Breaded Mozzarella Sticks :

  • 10 pieces mozzarella sticks
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅛ cup milk
  • ½ cup flour
  • oil
For Marinara Sauce  :
  • 4 medium Roma tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste

BREADED MOZZARELLA STICKS WITH MARINARA SAUCE

INSTRUCTIONS :-

 For Breaded Mozzarella Sticks :
  • Remove mozzarella sticks from packaging.
  • In a bowl, combine bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. In another bowl, place flour.
  • Individually roll mozzarella sticks in flour, dip in egg mixture and then roll in bread mixture, patting down crumbs to fully coat. Repeat with remaining cheese.
  • Arrange prepared mozzarella sticks in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Place, uncovered, in freezer and freeze for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  • In a deep, thick-bottomed pan over medium heat, heat about 2-inch deep of oil.
  • Add mozzarella sticks in batches and cook, turning once or twice, for about 2 to 3 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  • With a slotted spoon, remove from pan and drain on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Serve hot with marinara sauce.

  • In a blender or food processor, pulse tomatoes until crushed.
  • In a pan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add garlic and cook until aromatic.
  • Add crushed tomatoes and bring to a boil.
  • Add Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste. Lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 to 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  •  Your Sauce is ready for serve.
